From my thoughtful cousin Elyse:

This morning on June 20th, we released Kamila’s ashes in Amboseli National Park in Kenya. Sitting at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli is known as the “Home of the African Elephant” — it is one of the best places to see herds of elephants and the rare sight of elephants with beautifully long tusks. Watching the elephants was simply breathtaking — gentle and calm, they are known as being one of the most empathetic animals and for having strong family bonds. The herds are also led by a strong matriarch. This reminded us of the spirit of Kamila and your bond together.

Being in Kenya was a spiritual experience. We were amazed by the beauty of the landscapes and the generosity of the people. It’s a place where the animals are wild and free. There are the most incredible sunrises and sunsets. And, when the clouds part and the light shines through, it feels like the heavens have opened up. At night, the stars fill the sky and shine so brightly, more so than I’ve ever experienced before.

We wanted to pay tribute to Kamila in this beautiful place and let her spirit roam freely with the animals and the wonder of this landscape. 💕 In album link below, you’ll find photos and videos that reminded us of Kamila.
